Doctor Who actress Elisabeth Sladen has died of cancer at the age of 63

Elisabeth sladen has just recently died from a long and supposed quiet battle with cancer.

Sladen first starred as Sarah Jane of the scfi television doctor who  opposite Jon Pertwee. The pair worked together for three seasons, before Pertwee left the show in 1974.

She then became the assistant for Tom Baker. When the show relaunched, she appeared in an episode alongside modern-day Doctor Who David Tennant.

This episode was titled "school reunion"

Soon afterwards she was given a series spin-off to call her own titled the sarah jane adventures. The series debuted in january 1st on bbc 1 with a 60 minute special titled "The invasion of Bane". Soon afterwards in september 24th 2007 the rest of the 1st season followed, each episode being 25 minutes long. The first season having 5 two part stories.

The second season had 6 two part stories, this began to air on september 29 2008.

A third series, once again comprising of six two-part stories to make a total of twelve episodes, with Russell T Davies serving as executive producer, started airing on 15 October 2009 and finished on 20 November 2009.                             



 The fourth series began airing on 11 October 2010 with 12 episodes, with the season consisting off 6 two part episodes.

After this the series was transmitted in the autumn of 2010, a new spin-off series sarah jane's alien files.

The Sarah Jane Adventures was nominated for a British  Children'sac Acdemy Award in 2008 in the Drama category, and once again in 2009 for a BAFTA Cymru, in Children's Drama.

Sarah jane adventures season 5 was anounced to be aired in Autumn 2011.

Sadly elisabeth sladen died of cancer april 19th 2011.

Though i have heard rumours that the first two parts of been finished, whether or not they are realesed is unkown, but i can imagine with elisabeth's work on both doctor who and sarah jane adventures that they may realese them on bbc 1 as a tribute.

Being a recentley new who fan of a year and only a far as season 4 (reason because i would rather buy the box sets and watching them in the comfort of room with my sony hd tv rather than tring to catch the episodes on tv or computer)

I have not seen any sarah jane adventures, because of this i would like to watch some of season 1 and write more about elisabeth.
